NEW, ECONOMICAL SOLAR POWERED LOW SALINITY DESALINATORS
Blue Spring Corporation of Port Lavaca, Texas, U.S.A. announced that it has developed a new line of solar powered reverse osmosis units which can economically upgrade low-salinity brackish well water to W.H.O. and U.S. E.P.A. drinking water standards.
Blue Spring EC-S Series solar powered water purification systems are based on combination of the latest photovoltaic technology and the latest low pressure reverse osmosis water purification technology. The net result is that the units produce purified water at Sunlight levels as low as 30% during the day, resulting in purified water production of as much as 700 liters of purified water per day per square meter of Earth's surface (17 gallons per day per sq. foot). The units can handle source water salinity up to 3,000 mg/L. For higher salinity, the company manufactures solar powered high-salinity brackish water and sea water desalination systems.
The reverse osmosis technology used in EC-S Series water purifiers is capable of removing a wide range of impurities from water, such as bacteria, viruses, particulates, dissolved salts, arsenic, mercury, nitrates, organics, humic acid, with extra-ordinary efficiency, providing a safe source of drinking water.
Blue Spring EC-S Series solar powered water purification systems are expected to find wide range of applications in emergency water management, disaster relief efforts, water supplies for coastal homes, communities and townships, army camps, boy-scout camps, wherever water is contaminated and no electricity is available.
